Writing

unnamed-2.jpg

Originally wanting to solely be a comic book writer, I decided to branch into literary writing to explore writing styles by attending Columbia College Chicago.

During that time, I've gotten reacquainted with the APA format and editing, gaining a fondness for interviewing and writing reviews. I've also developed my writing technique and discovered that some of my comic ideas fair better in the written format compared to the comic format, telling the story in a new light.

Focusing on my literary skills helped me grow as a storyteller and developed a new understanding of the craft that I'll continue to nourish.

Fiction

BREAKING NEWS—Game show host, Coy Penny of 'Take the Check or Pay it Back', was arrested for embellishment and alleged kidnapping of past game contestants.

A warrior named Vice is taken under the wing of an anthropomorphic being.

Time passes and the warrior thrives, but when the bi-pedal mentor takes in another student -who turns out to be a prodigy—Vice feels threatened for his position as the lone star pupil.

A novel in process containing journal entries of a child documenting their interactions with genetically engineered twins who were raised in a lab.

Scary Stories During a Storm

An anthology video of original scary stories written by my sister and I told during a thunderstorm.

Each story was illustrated by me, utilizing waterproof India ink, pencils, and pens on 5x7 cards, with the coloring done on SketchBook.

A Space Massacre

Audio Drama Club is a Columbia College Chicago school organizaion that creates original stories to be told audiably, much like audio books, known as Audio Drama.

I joined in my senior year, in 2022, as a member of the writing team for the script, then later an assistant director, followed by volunteering to take charge as a social media manager. Though the initial story idea isn't mine, I've collaborated with fellow writers, brainstorming, editing, and peicing the story together to create the final project.

Non-Fiction

An email interview I did for class where I covered web comic artist, Vincent Kao, about his experience with adapting his digital comic “Magical Boy” into a physical print.

An email interview I did for class where I covered multi talented content writer, Alverne Ball, and how he balances time between multiple projects at once.

Cello with Carollina Gomez

A school project where we had interviewwed someone in an occupation that we found intriguing or someone who was working on big projects. I interviewed my cello instructor, Carollina Gomez, where I focused on her teaching methods and why she teaches.
